IN-SCHOOL/COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Capoeira Social Project offers in-school workshops for students of all ages. We can facilitate workshops for K-12, college students, adults and families of mixed ages.
CSP can personalize any workshop to meet your needs.
Duration: from 30minutes to a full day.
Participants: between 2 and 50 depending on space limitations
Activities: the client can choose what aspects they would like covered
Workshops can include:
Movement
Music
History
Language
other subjects determined by client
Below is a video of one such day-long residency that saw 8 groups, from K-5 totaling 200+ students, participate in a capoeira workshop in Severn, MD.

CSP will have an informational booth all day long and will also teach a capoeira workshop. Workshop will be focused towards beginners but will be fun even for the most experienced capoeira.

Berimbau Making Workshop
$105 donation
Learn all the steps to take a raw biriba verga, closed gourd, and used tire and turn them into complete berimbau. Requires use of hand tools (provided).

It’s been several years since CSP has been able to participate in Artscape and we are excited to not only have an informational booth but also the ability to share the cultural richness of capoeira through a workshop and roda. Times: TBD

Upcycling Pandeiro
$50 donation
In this workshop participants will repurpose everyday items into the musical instrument called a pandeiro.

Berimbau, pandeiro, atabaque, agogo, reco-reco, and triangle are options to learn the capoeira rhythms.
Os Cocos: Dance Workshop
Whether Olinda, Arco Verde or Alagoas we can ttailor a coco dance workshop for your event.
Os Cocos: Music Workshop
Learn to play alfaia, ganza, triangle, pandeiro, and atabaque to the various coco rhythms.
Caxixi Making Workshop
Learn all the steps to take a reed, broken gourd piece gourd, and seeds to turn them into complete caxixi. Requires use of hand tools (provided).
Berimbau Making Workshop
Learn all the steps to take a raw biriba verga, closed gourd, and used tire and turn them into complete berimbau. Requires use of hand tools (provided).
Screen Printing Workshop
Learn all the steps to screen print at home. Leave with 2 designs and a new tshirt.
